The cop who watched people dying
It can be seen from the location graph, of K.G.Erda, the PI of Meghaninagar where the massacre at Gulberg Society had happened on 28.2.2002, had mostly stayed at Gulberg Society with few policemen at his disposal. In his affidavit before Nanavati commission he has stated that around 2.45pm when the mob of ten thousand was entering Gulberg society by breaking the wall, there were just 15 police personnel at that place! He claims to have sent many messages to commissioner of police and other superior officers. But no police help came. However in his cross examination before the commission he could not give any reason as to why he did not resort to firing when mob was burning and killing people in Gulberg society. It may be re called that Shri Ehsan Jafri, the ex MP of Congress was brutally killed during this carnage.

The IPS Officer’s Association should come out openly to instill moral courage in their members to exposed the names and put them behind the bars who gave illegal orders not to save Muslims during the Riots of 2002 -though not bound to obey the illegal orders of their superior. Those who disobeyed the illegal orders have faced the dire consequences by the State Government and those obeyed the illegal orders have faced the dire consequences through Judiciary-Jail. The moral of the story is Police force is the disciplined force and must act free from Political influences and upheld the rule of law. Afterall it is question of their career by good means and not by evil means…
