Maya Kodnani-Jaydeep Patel Arrest

SIT moves to arrest Minister of State for Women and Child Welfare Dr Maya Kodnani and VHP leader Jaydeep Patel in Naroda Gam Case?

Minister of State for Women and Child Welfare Dr Maya Kodnani must step down after being declared absconder by the Supreme Court appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT). SIT also declared Dr.Jaydeep Patel an absconder.

Quite apart from the direct evidences of eyewitnesses indicting the state players, the reliable corroborative evidence was provided by then the DCP Rahul Sharma was the mobile phone records of all persons at Ahmedabad for the period between 25^th February, 2002 and 4^th March, 2002. He had produced the CDs containing this utmost valuable data that fixes the role of every state-player including the ministers and the police officers before SIT.

Jansangharsh Manch had analyzed the phone records and had submitted its analysis before Nanavati commission and SIT. Following two location graphs of Dr Maya Kodnani and Dr. Jaydeep Patel were prepare by JSM based on above phone records which established their presence at the place of crime that is Naroda Gam and Naroda Patia.

Despite such irrefutable evidences SIT dragged its feet for past two months allowing the accused to abscond and also file anticipatory bail applications. This conduct of SIT raises doubts about their seriousness of booking the accused and prosecuting them. In fact in Naroda Gam case few other accused were arrested by SIT were let off by court on regular bail within forty eight hours!!! We have to therefore wait for some more time to find out true nature of SIT investigation. What is also totally missing in the investigation is the issue of conspiracy to carry out the genocide. Would SIT find out where and who planned the carnage that started from 28th Feb 2002?
