July 30 press release

104, Maharana Pratap Complex, Near VS Hospital, Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad 380007, Ph. 079 26577280

Press Release

30th July 2008, Ahmedabad

In order to oppose bomb blast and support the victims NSM and Jan Sangharsh Manch had organised a Dharna today at 5.30pm at Town hall. NSM and JSM condemned the failure of the Government and its police administration in acquiring credible intelligence in preventing the cowardly act of the serial bombing that killed over 50 innocent people in Ahmedabad last weekend. NSM believes that it was the duty of the Government to protect the citizens from such violent attacks and its complete failure in doing so for the third time in 6 years is strongly protested by the NSM.

It may be recalled that on 27th February, 2002 also, the Government had no intelligence input regarding the Godhra incident when 59 innocent people died. Similarly, in the Akshardham incident also, several people died due to this very intelligence failure of the Government. This time again, the Government had absolutely no clue whatsoever about the large scale planning by the terrorists who killed the innocent people with complete impunity!

Today, NSM also released a satirical cartoon highlighting the stark contrast in the state of security between the two CMs, The Chief Minister and the Common man of Gujarat.

NSM also appealed to the people to maintain complete peace and harmony and unitedly face the menace of the violence.

Several organizations like Jamiat Ulma, Samvedan, Prashant, Janpath, Punarutthan, Sanchetana, Gujarat Federation of Trade Unions and many concerned citizens of Ahmedabad and Baroda took part in large numbers in the Dharna.

Mukul Sinha

Chairman

Please see the NSM Dharna Pamphlet here.

No terrorists can touch you as long as your Chief Minister is safe.
