Ishrat Jahan, a young girl from Mumbra (Mumbai), Javed Sheikh (Pranesh Pillai) from Puna and two unknown persons were shot dead by Gujarat Police near Kotarpur works, Naroda area, Ahmedabad on 15.6.2004 around 4 am in the morning on the alleged ground that they had conspired to kill Narendra Modi.

Sohrabuddin was killed on 26.11.2005 in the early morning near the Narol crossing, Ahmedabad, on the alleged ground that he was coming to kill Narendra Modi… His wife Kausarbi was killed on 29.11.2005. Tulsi was killed on 28.12.2006.

In all the killings Banzara was the Police officer ordering the killings… Ever since his arrest after the intervention of the Supreme Court such killings have stopped… Perhaps because the main terrorist is in captivity…
Fake encounter is crime against humanity. Union of India has translated the Convention against Torture by amending the Criminal Procedure Code in 2005 through section 176 of Cr.P.C. But the said section has to be tested in the Court of law. Human rights activists await the final verdict on the ambit of sec.176 of Cr.P.C. implemented in letter and spirit keeping in mind the mandate of the Convention against Torture by UNO.
