20th July 2008, Ahmedabad

A large number of activists of NSM and JSM led by Mukul Sinha, Mehmood Pathan, Anwarbhai, Vishnu Kadam, Pravin Mishra, Nirjhari Sinha and others met Shri Prafulbhai and his brother who were on hunger strike to protest the killings of their two innocent children, Dipesh and Abhishek. They extended their full support to their demand for an impartial CBI inquiry into the death of the two children and assured them of all help in their struggle to get justice. Several members of the minority community including ladies, namely Anjumben, Noorjahan and others also participated in the dharna with the local people who were protesting against the inaction of the Government.

Condemning the failure of the police and the government machinery to prevent the violence unleashed by the hirelings of Asaram on the protesting citizens as well as media persons on 18th July, Jan Sangharsh Manch leaders declared that an appropriate public interest litigation is being contemplated to force the Government to take action against the perpetrators of violence.

The NSM and JSM therefore demanded sternest action against those who resorted to violence on 18th July as well as demanded the immediate handover of the investigation to CBI. NSM and JSM also hailed the citizen’s of Ahmedabad who have unitedly stood up for the sake of the justice. NSM also declared their support and sympathy with the family members of Dipesh and Avishek.
